The film has returned to Cobham. He has made his sentiments quite clear.
First Chelsea player answers Enzo Fernandez’s video showing Argentinean teammates chanting ” racial chant”.
The first Chelsea player has replied to Enzo Fernandez filming performing a racist song targeted at France national team.
The prejudiced cry goes: “Their parents are from Angola, although they play for France. Their father from Nigeria; their mother from Cameroon. But their passport indicates French.”
On a team bus, many Argentina players can be seen shouting the song; the chant appears to be near the conclusion of an Instagram live before the Chelsea midfielder was advised to cease shooting.
While lodging a legal complaint, the French Football Federation issued a statement denouncing the song.
Among the French players Chelsea has are Wesley Fofana, who has boldly called out his own teammate on social media.
Accompanied with three facepalming emojis, he uploaded a video of Fernandez chanting the slogan with the statement “Football in 2024: unbridled bigotry.”
Furthermore, Fofana has seen to follow Fernandez on Instagram as well as his French-speaking Chelsea colleagues Axel Disasi and Malo Gusto.
The Blues also have Benoit Badiashile, Christopher Nkunku, and Malang Sarr on their books, thus they are not the only French players Chelsea employs.
Having started pre-season ahead of the 2024/25 season, new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca appears to have problems on his hands.
In January 2023 Fernandez signed for Stamford Bridge in a transaction valued £106.8 million.
Since going to England, he has made 63 appearances overall across all divisions.
Originally signed up from Leicester City for an initial £70 million, Fofana sustained a devastating ACL damage, therefore ruling him off the 2023/24 campaign.
For the club, the defender has only participated in 20 games overall in all competitions.
