As a result of the ‘Excellent’ Benfica superstar eventually agreeing to join the rival club, Manchester United has been dealt a significant blow. I just can’t believe that we can’t afford him and PSG always flatter to deceive 😤

Benfica’s promising young talent, Joao Neves, has opted to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) despite interest from Manchester United, according to the Portuguese newspaper Record.
The Red Devils have monitored the 19-year-old for the past year, but it appears PSG will secure his signature.
Reports indicate Neves is “very close” to departing Benfica, with a preference for playing with Les Parisiens over United. Consequently, Manchester United have “already given up” on the pursuit.
PSG manager Luis Enrique played a significant role in persuading the young midfielder to join the French champions. PSG has put forward an offer of £59 million, including add-ons, although Benfica is attempting to extend the transfer package, falling short of the £101 million release clause.
United’s Missed Opportunity
Manchester United is seeking a new defensive midfielder, and Neves, with his youth and high potential, would have been an excellent fit. The 19-year-old is adept with the ball, excels in tackling, winning duels, and ball recoveries, and despite being only 174 cm tall, he has an impressive aerial ability.
Missing out on Neves represents a setback for United. Financial constraints might have hindered their ability to compete with PSG for the talented teenager, especially after spending £36.5 million on Joshua Zirkzee and planning to spend £52 million on Lille center-back Leny Yoro. Following significant expenditures totaling £88.5 million, United may need to generate more funds through player sales before making another major signing.
