Man Utd ‘Keep Doors Open’ for Centre-Back Signing 🏆 Big news for Red Devils fans! Manchester United is keeping their options open for bolstering their defense with a top-notch centre-back. With the transfer window in full swing, the club’s strategic moves could bring a game-changing addition to Old Trafford. Stay tuned as we follow every twist and turn of this potential blockbuster signing

Manchester United are considering another centre-back addition following Leny Yoro’s signing, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano reports that United remain open to bolstering their defense further, contingent on the completion of several outgoing transfers.

Despite strong interest in Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, United opted to secure a deal for Yoro. The 18-year-old has committed to a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with an option for an additional year.

United successfully outbid Real Madrid for Yoro’s signature. Real Madrid had planned to acquire the Frenchman for free after his contract expired in 2025.

Yoro joins from Lille following a standout season and becomes United’s second summer signing. This follows the recent acquisition of striker Joshua Zirkzee on a long-term deal.

Despite these signings, United remain open to further additions in the striker and centre-back positions. The club has also held discussions about forwards Ivan Toney and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Branthwaite’s Cost Considered Prohibitive

Everton’s firm stance

Romano, in his live show, mentioned that United still find Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite ‘too expensive’, while Matthijs de Ligt could be a more affordable option:

“Manchester United are not ruling out the possibility of signing another significant centre-back this summer.

“They are keeping the door open for one more centre-back, with Matthijs de Ligt remaining a possibility.

“There have been many rumors about Branthwaite, but Everton’s current £70m asking price is too high for United.

“For United, this is excessive, and Matthijs de Ligt, at around €50m, is a more affordable option. United can proceed with another centre-back once some outgoing transfers are finalized.”

United had two bids for Branthwaite rejected by Everton earlier in the transfer window. The Red Devils’ improved offer of £45m plus £5m in add-ons was also turned down, with Everton standing firm on their valuation.

With Everton likely to sell Amadou Onana to Aston Villa for around £50m, they are in no rush to sell Branthwaite this summer.
