“Everybody thinks that Madrid is a Bigger Club than Man United but Manchester United is really the biggest club in the world and this is why. Real Madrid wasn’t close”- New signing for Manchester United Leny Yoro has now opened up about why he chose Manchester over Real Madrid as he states the happened during the transfer saga.

Rio Ferdinand’s recent social media activity regarding Manchester United’s potential signing of Leny Yoro has stirred significant excitement among fans and analysts. According to The Athletic, Yoro is on his way to the UK for medical tests and to finalize his contract with United. The transfer deal between Lille and United is reportedly set at around £52 million.

Yoro initially considered a move to Real Madrid but seems more inclined to join United, particularly given his contract with Lille is nearing its end. Lille is eager to secure a transfer fee now rather than risk losing him for free next year, accelerating the negotiation process.

Though the deal is not yet finalized, Rio Ferdinand, a former United center-back, fueled speculation with a cryptic tweet. He retweeted Fabrizio Romano’s post about the transfer, adding only an eyes emoji and a wink emoji. This has triggered a wave of reactions and speculations online.

Fans reacted enthusiastically to Ferdinand’s tweet, showing a range of emotions and hopes for Yoro’s potential impact:

– Some jokingly urged Ferdinand to share insider information.

– Others compared Yoro to iconic United defensive duos like Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

– Many expressed excitement at the prospect of Yoro replicating the success of past United greats at Old Trafford.

Yoro, a product of Lille’s youth academy, broke into the first team in May 2022. Last season, he played in 44 matches, helping Lille secure a fourth-place finish in Ligue 1 and demonstrating his talent on the European stage.

Besides Yoro, Manchester United has also been linked with Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich. The 24-year-old defender is reportedly interested in a move to Old Trafford and has had positive discussions with the Bundesliga club. De Ligt previously played under United’s current manager, Erik ten Hag, at Ajax, where they won the Eredivisie title and reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019.

United’s search for defensive reinforcements follows the departure of Raphael Varane after his contract expired. The club aims to fill the gap left by Varane and bolster their defense ahead of the new season.
