Sir Alex Ferguson has identified two key players Manchester United should retain.

Regarded as possibly the greatest manager in football history, Ferguson transformed Manchester United during his 27-year leadership, securing 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League trophies, among other honors.

In a recent conversation with TikTok personality Jamal Niaz, Ferguson discussed the influence of young talents Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. Despite a challenging season under Erik ten Hag, both players shone, notably scoring in the FA Cup final win against Manchester City.

Ferguson emphasized the importance of youth in the clubโ€™s ethos, a tradition dating back to Sir Matt Busby. “It’s the foundation,” he said. “The heart and soul of Manchester United has always been about trusting young players.”

He praised Garnacho and Mainoo for their composure and confidence, stating, “Their courage at such a young age is remarkable.”

This summer, Garnacho celebrated Argentina’s victory in the 2024 Copa America held in the United States, while Mainoo, 19, earned a spot in Gareth Southgateโ€™s England squad for Euro 2024 after impressing at Old Trafford. Although Mainoo started in the final against Spain, England narrowly lost 2-1 due to a late goal by Mikel Oyarzabal.

Both players will take a break before resuming training for the 2024/25 season.
