“after all I have done for man city-One of the hardest days of my career’ – Man City’s Ederson hits out after report he was ‘affected’ by praise for team-mate Stefan Ortega

In the last Premier League match of the season between City and Tottenham, Ederson was substituted out with an injury when his side was leading 1-0. After taking his place, Ortega made an amazing save to save Son Heung-min from tying the score, enabling City to win the Premier League title against West Ham in the season’s last match.

The Athletic said that Ederson was moved by the encouraging remarks directed at his backup, Ortega, who was showered with accolades for the stop. The 30-year-old has denied the allegations on social media, citing the mood as a contributing reason in his decision to go despite Saudi Arabia’s interest.

THOUGHS OF EDERSON
“I would want to explain that the message published by The Athletic yesterday, pertaining to my claimed unhappiness with a co-worker, is absolutely incorrect,” the actor stated in an Instagram post.

“The reported day was perhaps one of the most challenging of my career; I broke my bone, which kept me from playing in the last few games of the season and, as a result, from competing for my nation in the Copa América.

My only thought at the time of the injury was to play on and defend City in the match to keep the title we had won, but the emotion of the game would overpower reality and, eventually, I would not be able to continue as I would have liked because of the damage it caused, which completely blocked my field of vision.

“I’m still concentrating on getting ready for the season.”
