Manchester City star waves ‘goodbye’ to Guardiola with transfer to Real Madrid now on the verge deal almost done
According to sources, Man City striker Julian Alvarez is getting closer to joining Real Madrid in the summer. The trade is reportedly “on track.”
On the penultimate day of the previous season, Pep Guardiola’s team defeated Arsenal by two points to take first position in the Premier League, giving the Citizens their fourth straight title.
Despite rumors that he would depart when his contract expires in 2025, that further solidified Guardiola’s reputation as one of the greatest managers the English top flight has ever had.
Along with the England manager position after Gareth Southgate, there have also been rumors of Guardiola’s top players leaving this summer.
Among the players who have been linked to leaving before the transfer season closes are Alvarez, Jack Grealish, Ederson, Bernardo Silva, and Kevin de Bruyne.
Man City have cut their asking price for Alvarez to £40 million in an attempt to offload the disgruntled player before the end of August, contrary to earlier reports that they were seeking for about £60 million for the player.
Alvarez has reportedly expressed frustration with his playing time under Guardiola, and he recently stated that he “will determine” his future following the Olympics.
