From onset I don’t like Arsenal as a club,I don’t know why my own teammate will have to agree terms with them despite my advice” , Vigil Dijk Confirmed His £40 million international teammate has signed personal terms to join Arsenal before next week.

Reports from the Turkish news outlet Nutuk reveal that Arsenal has made an initial bid for Fenerbahce’s left-back, Ferdi Kadioglu, during this summer’s transfer window.

The 24-year-old defender had been heavily linked with Arsenal earlier in the transfer window, with speculation suggesting that personal terms had already been agreed upon between the Gunners and the Turkish international.

Nutuk now claims that Arsenal has put forward a £17 million opening bid for Kadioglu. However, Arsenal is not alone in its pursuit of the versatile defender—Borussia Dortmund is also reported to have made a similar offer.

Despite the interest, Fenerbahce is hesitant to sell Kadioglu for that price, setting their asking price at £30 million, which would mark a record transfer fee for a player departing the Turkish Super Lig.

A deal with Arsenal appears unlikely. Kadioglu, who started his career as a forward adept on either wing and in attacking midfield, has since transitioned into a regular defensive role.

Although naturally right-footed, Kadioglu has demonstrated his adaptability by playing in both full-back positions, with a preference for the left side.

Arsenal currently has ample depth at left-back. Oleksandr Zinchenko was the starter in their recent match against Bayer Leverkusen, and the club also has options like Riccardo Calafiori, Jakub Kiwior, Jurrien Timber, and Takehiro Tomiyasu. Additionally, Kieran Tierney is another option, though he is currently recovering from a long-term hamstring injury.

Given Arsenal’s current squad depth, it seems improbable that they will continue to pursue Kadioglu, who was born in the Netherlands.

The rumors of Arsenal’s interest may have been fueled by his agent, possibly to encourage other European clubs, such as Borussia Dortmund, to meet Fenerbahce’s valuation.

As the transfer window continues, it seems unlikely that Arsenal will prioritize defensive reinforcements. Instead, the club might shift its focus toward bolstering the midfield and potentially adding a center-forward. Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad is reportedly Arsenal’s top midfield target.

Regarding the striker position, Arsenal has not been heavily linked with any new signings. However, this could change if Eddie Nketiah leaves the club.

Olympique Marseille has recently made a fresh offer for the 25-year-old striker, who is open to a move. If Nketiah departs, Arsenal may consider signing a new forward before the transfer window closes.
