The domestic abuse charges against Manchester United winger Antony, filed by his ex-girlfriend, have reportedly been dropped by Brazilian police.

The 24-year-old player was initially accused by his former partner, Gabriela Cavallin, of making threats, abusing, and insulting her, prompting the São Paulo police to launch an investigation. However, over a year after the accusations surfaced, the police have reportedly concluded their investigation due to insufficient evidence, according to FOOTBALLWAVE.

Cavallin first made her claims public in May 2023 during an appearance on Brazilian TV channel TV Record, where she alleged that Antony had assaulted her in the previous year. She claimed that he headbutted her, causing a cut, threw water on her, and kicked her.

“He threw me onto the bed, grabbed me by the arms, and collapsed on top of me,” Cavallin recounted. She also mentioned that during the incident, her silicone implant became dislodged, causing her severe breathing difficulties. Furthermore, she alleged that Antony had kept her confined in their home, refusing to let her leave.

“He took my passport, damaged my suitcase, and took my handbag,” she said. “He broke my phone and wouldn’t let me leave.
