Horrible news has been confirmed for Liverpool before the Brentford vs Liverpool match on Sunday. They are in Big problems amidst their clash tomorrow against Brentford! 😧😮🙏

Liverpool’s current central defenders will need to hold the line against Brentford, as Jarell Quansah is expected to miss the game due to an injury.

Paul Gorst from The Echo shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the young defender did not participate in the latest training session at the AXA Centre, confirming earlier reports from Arne Slot regarding Quansah’s injury.

Liverpool kicked off the 2024/25 season with a 2-0 win against newly-promoted Ipswich Town, thanks largely to an improved performance in the second half.

In terms of central defenders, Liverpool can still count on Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and Joe Gomez before needing to rely on Academy players.

Nat Phillips is another option, but depending on a fifth-choice or less experienced player is far from ideal.

Given Konate and Gomez’s history with injuries, the club might need to make room in the squad to avoid taking a risk by not securing additional cover.

Although Quansah’s injury isn’t thought to be serious, Liverpool could be taking an unnecessary risk by not bringing in reinforcements.
