The thigh damage Malo Gusto, a Chelsea star, sustained in the draw against Crystal Palace has caused him to pull from international duty with the France Under-21 team.
In the absence of Reece James, Gusto began at right-back in Chelsea’s first Premier League game of the season but was pulled out in the second half of Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman pulled up dragging his back of his leg and was substituted with fifteen minutes of the game left.
Joining the France under-21 team on Monday, Gusto has been named for European Championship qualifying against Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Along with Lens midfielder Andy Diouf and Burnley defender Maxime Estève, Gusto is one of three players who have since been ruled out of those matchups from the French camp.
Gusto has a thigh issue, verified by the French Football Federation.
Chelsea will be confident Gusto is healthy in time for the trip; she returns to action away to Bournemouth on September 14.
