Liverpool Star who was loaned has been given a 10-match ban from football after what he did in their last match 🚨 There’s no way he is getting away with that 😞😡
Liverpool’s rising star, Owen Beck, currently on loan at Blackburn Rovers, found himself at the center of controversy during a goalless Lancashire derby, after being sent off for his reaction to an alleged bite by Preston North End’s Milutin Osmajic.
Blackburn Rovers manager John Eustace expressed disappointment with the officiating, stating, “Owen has a clear bite mark on his neck, but the referee missed it,” in an interview with BBC Radio Lancashire (via BBC Sport).
The incident has sparked comparisons to former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez, who notoriously bit Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic back in April 2013.
The FA is expected to review the footage to assess if Osmajic’s actions warrant disciplinary action. In the case of Suarez, he was handed a 10-game suspension, and Osmajic could face a similar fate. There’s also a chance that Beck’s three-match ban could be overturned if the review clears his involvement.
