At Villa Park, Aston Villa held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw, forcing United to settle for a point.
Despite failing to register a point, United was able to maintain a clean sheet against a Villa squad that was on a roll and had defeated Bayern Munich in the Champions League midweek.
