Manchester United have just terminated the contract of thier Star player this morning who could help them Win the EuropaLeague

Ji-sung Park’s name frequently appears at least once in the comments section of social media posts asking which Premier League player is the most underappreciated of all time.

Nevertheless, at Old Trafford, the former South Korea international was everything but underappreciated. Park played for Manchester United for seven years, making over forty matches in the 2005–06 and 2008–09 seasons and only missing out on at least twenty appearances in one season.

During his tenure at Old Trafford, Park would only miss out on the FA Cup in terms of domestic honors. In addition to winning three League Cups and four Premier League crowns, he also won the 2008 Champions League and the Club World Cup before joining Queens Park Rangers in 2012.

Despite the club’s desire for him to stay, Park made over 200 appearances for United. In 2021, he told the UTD Podcast that he realized it was time to go on.

“I missed five games in a row without any injuries during the last season (2011–12),” Park said on the UTD Podcast.

That told me it was time for me to go because I had always made a contribution. If there were no injuries, I could have missed up to three games in a row, but as a player, five is really difficult. So, I believe it is time for me to quit the club.

“I spoke with Sir Alex Ferguson and the club really wanted me to stay, but it was the first time I had missed five games in a row without getting hurt. This was perhaps the first time that several of the players were aware that I was leaving.

Park said that leaving Old Trafford was difficult and revealed that he still had a letter from Sir Alex Ferguson.

“It was really difficult since this was the first club I had ever attended for seven years,” he continued.

“And everything was there—families, friends, and an established environment. It seemed like home, so I was really at ease. But I had to make a decision since, at the conclusion of my playing career, I was 31 and this was probably the final time I would relocate and have a contract. I found it quite difficult to leave.

“Sir Alex Ferguson recognized my emotions. I still have the letter he wrote me. It has a lot of significance. I am really grateful for it and happy to have played for United under Sir Alex Ferguson.

When I wanted to go, we did not speak much in person; instead, he just said, “Good luck for the future, all the best.” However, the letter later revealed that his grandson did not want me to leave. I am incredibly happy to have worked with him since we had a terrific relationship.
