They are not my type” Martin Zubimendi has finally speaks on his reasons for regretting to joining Liverpool rumors. He did a big mistake

Martin Zubimendi, who was on the verge of joining Liverpool during the summer transfer window, has finally addressed the failed move to the Premier League.

While Liverpool seemed confident that the deal was nearly finalized, Zubimendi and Real Sociedad turned down the offer, with Zubimendi choosing to remain loyal to the club where he has spent his entire career.

Ahead of Real Sociedad’s upcoming Europa League fixture against Anderlecht, Zubimendi was questioned about whether he regretted missing the chance to play for Liverpool.

He expressed no regrets, emphasizing that he is happy in Donostia-San Sebastian, despite the allure of joining one of England’s top clubs.

Real Sociedad has had a challenging start to their season, currently 14th in La Liga with just two wins from their first eight matches. Zubimendi has played in every game so far, scoring once in the season opener against Rayo Vallecano, which ended in a draw.

Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, had identified the Spanish midfielder as a key target, particularly as there was uncertainty over who would fill the defensive midfielder role. However, 22-year-old Ryan Gravenberch has stepped up impressively since starting in the first Premier League game against Ipswich. Gravenberch has been crucial in Liverpool’s five league victories and has started seven of their eight matches.

Gravenberch has earned ‘Man of the Match’ honors twice—once in Liverpool’s 3-1 Champions League victory over AC Milan and again in their recent 2-1 win over Wolves. His performances have impressed both the club’s leadership and his teammates, a notable improvement from his tough debut season under Jurgen Klopp.

Real Sociedad now faces a tough Europa League match against Anderlecht, following their 1-1 draw with Ligue 1 side Nice, while Liverpool, under Slot’s leadership, is aiming for Champions League success after missing out on the competition last season. Liverpool’s last Champions League run ended in disappointment, with a heavy 6-2 aggregate defeat to

Real Madrid.
