Furious Manchester United coach Darren Fletcher stormed out of his seat after West Ham were awarded a late penalty on Sunday.

United travelled to the London Stadium on Sunday as they looked to extend their four-game unbeaten run. The Hammers meanwhile have endured a difficult first campaign under Julen Lopetegui.

But it was the hosts who were celebrating their third win of the season to leapfrog United in the Premier League table. In an action-packed final 15 minutes, West Ham went ahead through Crysencio Summerville’s strike.

Casemiro got United back on level terms with nine minutes to go, but soon after Danny Ings was brought down by Matthijs de Ligt. Referee David Coote waved away the initial claims, but he was sent to the pitchside monitor to review it by VAR Michael Oliver.

With United players crowding around him, Coote overturned his decision and pointed to the spot. Jarrod Bowen stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, sending a low powerful shot into the bottom corner.

Despite 12 minutes of injury time, United could not get themselves level. Boss Erik ten Hag was seen shaking his head at the final whistle, while Fletcher made a more visible protest as the penalty was awarded.

He was spotted storming away from his seat in the press box and could be heard saying “every f****** week” in reference to the perceived decisions that have gone against his side.
