Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, openly criticized the Premier League’s VAR system after a contentious penalty decision led to his team’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham. The VAR system needs improvements, but those managing it must be willing to make decisive choices when it counts.”
Adding to the disappointment, United’s offense struggled to capitalize on multiple opportunities. Diogo Dalot missed an open goal, and the team hit the crossbar twice, squandering several promising chances. Crysencio Summerville put West Ham ahead in the 74th minute, and despite United’s offensive pressure, they failed to score.
