Former Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane has been appointed as the manager of Manchester United this morning after the sacking of Erik Ten Hag
Following Erik ten Hag’s resignation from Old Trafford, Manchester United is searching for a new manager.
After the Reds came seventh in the Premier League, the United manager seemed to be on his way out of the stadium in July. But a triumph over Manchester City in the FA Cup final guaranteed Europa League football and gave Ten Hag some respite.
Ten Hag’s tenure at the club appeared to be running short even with vocal support from Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Dan Ashworth, and Omar Berrada when the Reds lost badly to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. Having won only three games from nine with the draw at West Ham United at the weekend, he exits Manchester United seated 14th in the standings.
Finding a successor will now be Ineos’ challenge. While a permanent new boss is hired having been an assistant to Ten Hag, Ruud van Nistelrooy will take over as temporary head coach.
Ratcliffe’s first concern will be the expense of selecting a long-term Ten Hag replacement. United is currently working to balance the accounts after years of overspending, hence they are not in the position to pay a large salary for a new manager.
