“He is not even ashame. This players are not meant to be here. How could he post that after costing us a win against Chelsea?”-Man Utd fans call out Joshua Zirkzee for ‘shameless’ social media post after Chelsea disastrous performance.
Manchester United fans reacted negatively to Joshua Zirkzee’s social media post after his brief appearance in the recent 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
In Ruud van Nistelrooy’s second match as interim manager following Erik ten Hag’s departure, United initially took the lead in the 70th minute with a penalty by Bruno Fernandes. However, Chelsea quickly responded, with Moises Caicedo equalizing just four minutes later.
Van Nistelrooy made a late substitution, bringing Zirkzee on for Rasmus Hojlund in the 84th minute. Zirkzee, who joined from Bologna for £36.5 million but has only scored once so far, had a chance soon after entering the game. Unfortunately, he was unable to outpace Wesley Fofana, missing an opportunity to make an impact.
Following the match, Zirkzee shared a photo on social media showing himself running toward the goal, despite not converting the chance. This sparked backlash from fans online, with many labeling the post as “shameless.”
One fan commented on X, “Can’t believe Zirkzee actually posted this. Such a shameless move.” Another added, “He thinks he’s fast—we all saw what happened.” A third fan remarked, “This guy has no shame.”
So far this season, Zirkzee has scored just once in 14 appearances across all competitions, while United currently stand in 13th place in the league.
Van Nistelrooy, who will manage United for two more matches before Ruben Amorim steps in, commended the players for their dedication. “Overall, it was a strong performance,” he said. “The players fought hard and created chances. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t secure the win, but the effort wa
s evident.”
