There are rumours in Germany that Thomas Tuchel may be amenable to making an unexpected comeback to Chelsea this summer.

After less than two full seasons in charge, Tuchel will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign, the club has officially confirmed.

Chelsea, on the other hand, must decide what to do with Mauricio Pochettino’s future after fans demanded that the Argentine be fired following last Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Brentford.

When he departs Bayern, Tuchel wants to go back to the Premier League, and the 50-year-old is monitoring his options at a number of teams, according to SportBild.

According to the report, Tuchel had mentioned Manchester United as a possible destination, but he now thinks Erik ten Hag will stay in charge for an additional season.

According to reports, Tuchel would be open to rejoining Chelsea this summer provided Todd Boehly, the club’s co-owner, was prepared to set aside their past disagreements, which caused Tuchel to leave Stamford Bridge in September 2022.

It is known that Tuchel became irate once Boehly joined the team; in fact, just a few months before to his dismissal, the German manager called his relationship with Chelsea’s new owners “intense.”

Speaking on leaving Chelsea a year ago, Tuchel acknowledged that leaving the team “still hurt.”

“We were all shocked by it,” Tuchel remarked.

We had the impression that we were at a good place at the perfect time to build, do great things, and extend our stay. We had strong bonds with the staff members. Not being able to see these people every day still stings in some small way.

“I have the passion and I love this job.” A dressing room is the funniest place ever—joy, excellent humour. The thing I miss the most is that.

Because of the circumstances—we began during COVID, experienced Brexit, and then had an ownership transition—we were able to forge an exceptional bond. On the training ground, we were a formidable team. It had the feel of a family.
