Tottenham is set to be without 11 important players against Liverpool as selection crisis gets worse Advantage Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur will face Liverpool tonight in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final amidst a troubling streak of results and a heavily depleted squad.

Spurs have secured just two victories in their last 12 matches, suffering five defeats in nine games and failing to win in their last four outings. However, their struggles can be attributed to a string of injuries and absences among key players.

Head coach Ange Postecoglou has faced criticism for his tactical approach, but the team’s problems have been exacerbated by significant defensive injuries.

The situation has deteriorated further since their 2-1 Premier League defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.

Tottenham could be missing up to 11 players for tonight’s clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. First-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario remains sidelined with a fractured ankle sustained in November.

Fraser Forster, who stepped in for Vicario, missed the Newcastle game due to illness, along with Radu Dragusin and his replacement, Archie Gray.

Dragusin, the team’s only fit senior center-back, was forced off at halftime but is expected to recover alongside Gray and winger Dejan Kulusevski, who were also unwell.

Dragusin and Gray are likely to feature in defense, with Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, and Destiny Udogie all ruled out.

Spurs may also field their new goalkeeper, Antonin Kinsky, signed from Slavia Prague for £12.5m over the weekend.

While Brandon Austin performed admirably on his first-team debut against Newcastle, Postecoglou suggested Kinsky, a 21-year-old Czech Republic youth international, could start after participating in a few training sessions.

In midfield, Rodrigo Bentancur is set to return from suspension, but James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr are unavailable due to yellow card suspensions in the competition.

In the attacking lineup, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert remain sidelined, though young prospect Mikey Moore may be included on the bench.

Liverpool, chasing their third League Cup final appearance in four years, will aim to exploit Tottenham’s injury struggles as Postecoglou contends with a chall

enging squad situation.
