Another Injury Blow for Liverpool Youngster

A young Liverpool talent has suffered yet another heartbreaking injury just weeks after returning from a prolonged spell on the sidelines.

Scanlonā€™s Struggles Continue

Calum Scanlon, who joined Millwall on loan five months ago, had an unfortunate start, making only one appearance in September before a stress fracture in his back forced him to return to Merseyside for treatment.

After months of recovery, the 19-year-old finally regained fitness and was back on the pitch for Millwall in mid-January. Just as he was beginning to rebuild his momentum, disaster struck again. He lasted only 17 minutes in Millwallā€™s 1-0 victory over Luton last weekend before being forced off with a hamstring injury.

Millwall boss Alex Neil revealed (via Southwark News) that Scanlon has sustained a grade three hamstring tear, an injury that could sideline him for up to 12 weeksā€”potentially ending his season.

A String of Misfortunes

This latest setback is a cruel twist of fate for Scanlon, who had already endured four months on the sidelines. His hopes of securing regular playing time have been repeatedly dashed by injuries.

He isnā€™t alone in this struggle, as other Liverpool prospects, including Kaide Gordon and Stefan Bajcetic, have also faced major injury setbacks, hindering their development.

Jurgen Klopp previously praised Scanlonā€™s talent, describing him as ā€œfun to watchā€ during pre-season 18 months ago. His loan move to Millwall was meant to provide him with valuable first-team experience, but persistent injuries have significantly disrupted his progress.

With the estimated recovery period, Scanlonā€™s chances of featuring again this season largely depend on whether Millwall makes a deep run in the Championship play-offs.

We wish him a speedy recovery and hope this is the last of his injury troubles, allowing him to fulfill his pot

ential in the future.
