“I’ve spoken to Paul Pogba, and he’s expressed his desire to continue his career here. We’ve decided to give him an opportunity because he still has a deep love for this club. He’s determined to help me and contribute to winning many trophies before he retires,” Ruben Amorim revealed, leaving fans stunned with the announcement of Pogba’s clear intentions to return to Manchester United.

Former French footballer Bacary Sagna has hinted that Paul Pogba might have an opportunity to make a sensational return to Manchester United, particularly with Ruben Amorim now at the helm. Pogba, who is currently a free agent, is eager to revive his career following a difficult spell that left doubts about his future in the sport.
The 2018 World Cup winner recently parted ways with Juventus after an underwhelming second stint in Turin, where he managed only 12 appearances. His career took a significant hit in September 2023 when he received a four-year ban for doping, having unknowingly ingested a prohibited substance. However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) later reduced the suspension to 18 months, allowing Pogba to resume training in early 2024 and make a competitive return by March.
Despite being 31, Pogba remains a highly skilled midfielder. Sagna, a former Arsenal and Manchester City defender, believes that the Frenchman could be enticed back to Old Trafford, particularly under Amorim’s guidance. Speaking to Mega Dice, Sagna highlighted Amorim’s impact as a coach and how it could influence Pogba’s decision:
“Manchester United has undergone significant changes since Paul’s last tenure. With a young and forward-thinking coach like Amorim, who has experienced top-level football firsthand, he understands the pressures that come with the game. I believe he would welcome Paul back, given the connection he has with the club.”
Sagna also acknowledged Pogba’s deep emotional ties to Manchester United, despite a tumultuous six-year spell that yielded only two trophies.
Pogba’s recent social media post stating, “I’m coming back,” has further fueled speculation about his return to football. Meanwhile, Manchester United is struggling under Amorim’s leadership, currently sitting in a disappointing 15th place in the Premier League following a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. The team’s ongoing injury crisis and reliance on inexperienced players have only added to their woes.
While Pogba’s return could provide much-needed strength to United’s midfield, it remains uncertain whether the club will take steps to bring him back as part of their strategy to overcome their current
struggles.
