Amorim has pressured me to sign this striker and I hope he don’t end up like Hojlund …If he does, I’ll sack him”: Manchester United’s owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has signed Ruben Amorim’s dream striker and fired him a strong warning. When I said we’ll sign this guy if Ruben really want him, some of you were laughing at me

Manchester United have reportedly reached out to Greek club Olympiacos regarding the potential signing of Charalampos Kostoulas, a 17-year-old forward who has also attracted interest from Arsenal. The young talent, described as a “marvel of nature” by Olympiacos sporting director Darko Kovacevic, is being closely monitored by several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Tottenham, and Aston Villa.

Kostoulas is also on the radar of top European teams such as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, and AC Milan. However, Manchester United appear to be leading the race after initiating formal discussions with Olympiacos, according to reports from The Sun.

Having joined Olympiacos in 2019 from Agia Anna Volos, Kostoulas has already made 33 first-team appearances, scoring six goals and providing two assists. His performances have also earned him recognition on the international stage, where he has netted two goals in his first two appearances for Greece’s U21 squad. Known for his speed, physicality, and sharp goal-scoring instincts, he has drawn comparisons to former Argentine striker Gabriel Batistuta, earning him the nickname “Babistuta.”

Standing over six feet tall, Kostoulas is proficient with both feet, thrives in hold-up play, and excels in aerial duels. Given his impressive development, Olympiacos are keen to retain him, especially since he is under contract until June 2030. However, with significant interest from elite clubs across Europe, his departure from the Greek side seems inevitable.

Kostoulas first made headlines while still in the Olympiacos academy, playing a key role in their UEFA Youth League triumph and earning the Super League Greece 2 Young Player of the Season award in 2024. Since then, he has made history as the youngest player to debut professionally for Olympiacos and was named Super League Greece Player of the Month in December.

His rise to prominence also saw him earn a call-up to Greece’s senior national team for their Nations League match against Scotland. Unfortunately, a hamstring injury sustained in a Europa League clash against Bodo/Glimt prevented him from making his debut. However, he is expected to return to action for Olympiacos in their upcoming fixture against Panathinaikos.

As the summer transfer window approaches, the competition for Kostoulas is expected to intensify, with Manchester United currently leading the race for his

signature.
