“I never expected him to leave Manchester City so soon until he hold me himself that he will be joining Real Madrid by January”- Man City star Phil Foden has just revealed his “phenomenal” teammate will be joining Real Madrid this January transfer window

Real Madrid are gearing up for what could be another active summer transfer window in 2026 as they look to rebound from their current season’s struggles. Plans are already underway for Nico Paz’s return, with a new defender and additional midfielder also under consideration – and the club is eyeing a new striker as well.

Erling Haaland has been on Real Madrid’s radar for years. The Spanish giants pursued him during his Borussia Dortmund days, but the Norwegian striker ultimately chose Manchester City, where he’s been delivering exceptional performances over the past few seasons.

Although Haaland committed to a new long-term contract with the Premier League champions last year, Real Madrid haven’t given up on their pursuit. According to Sky Sport Germany, a potential move could materialize as soon as this summer.

The German outlet reports that discussions between Real Madrid’s leadership and Haaland’s representative Rafaela Pimienta are ongoing. The striker reportedly views the Santiago Bernabeu as his ultimate career destination and would be willing to make the switch despite having a contract with Manchester City running through 2034.

Transfer hinges on Vinicius Junior’s departure

While Real Madrid remain interested and maintain dialogue with Pimienta, any potential deal would require specific conditions to fall into place. The primary factor would be Vinicius Junior’s exit from the club – a scenario that’s not entirely out of the question given he has just 18 months remaining on his current deal, which hasn’t been extended.

Vinicius could himself make a Premier League move within the next year to 18 months, which would clear the path for Real Madrid to pursue Haaland. Should this scenario unfold, it would see Kylian Mbappe shift to the left wing, creating a potential partnership with Haaland that would undoubtedly excite Madrid supporters.
