Coming live from Fabrizio Romano, it’s finally happening Manchester united makes late move to sign benfica star after yoro’s setback. Leny Yoro may have been signed against the odds but with latest injury Manchester United now have plans of recruiting more than one centre-back this summer and have made an official move to sign Portuguese star. According to Reports, united have submitted an official bid of £55m to bring the 20yrs old to Old Trafford. He said ” I know there’s lot of competition at united I know my potential and I can’t to see this dream become a reality cause I’m eager to join united. Man United now eyeing benfica star, who is capable of playing as the left centre-back after yoro’s injury. The fans are in support of this move. We have to bring someone who can get that defense balanced and he seems like the best option

Manchester United’s unexpected signing of Leny Yoro hasn’t deterred their plans to further strengthen their defense with additional center-back signings this summer.

Their pursuit of Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite has been challenging, with two bids already rejected. Though there was some optimism about a third bid after a failed takeover, Everton is now preparing to offer Branthwaite a new contract, which could halt any transfer efforts.

Matthijs de Ligt, initially seen as an easy acquisition due to his personal agreement and desire to reunite with Erik ten Hag, has seen his transfer hit a roadblock. United is struggling to match Bayern Munich’s valuation of the Dutch defender, leading to de Ligt’s growing frustration and complicating the negotiations.

Due to the difficulties in acquiring Branthwaite and de Ligt, United is now focusing on Benfica’s Antonio Silva, as reported by Football Transfers. Scouts have closely monitored Silva, a versatile 20-year-old who can play on both sides of the defense, making him a valuable option, especially as a backup for Lisandro Martinez.

Silva’s initial €100 million release clause was a major hurdle, but after a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign, his price has reportedly decreased. Represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has a strong relationship with Manchester United, Silva’s high-profile move seems more feasible.

United’s defensive issues last season, especially during Martinez’s absence, underscored the need for a left-footed center-back. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof struggled to fill the gap, prompting Ten Hag to target players like Branthwaite and Silva.

Silva’s ability to play on either side of the defense and deputize for Martinez makes him an attractive prospect. However, Benfica may be reluctant to sell both Silva and Joao Neves, with Neves potentially moving to Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United is likely to continue their efforts to sign de Ligt and Branthwaite while hoping that player sales will improve their financial position for stronger bids. The club values Silva’s defensive versatility and potential to enhance their backline.

As United maneuvers through the complexities of the transfer market, their primary goal remains to build a solid defense capable of competing at the highest level. The outcome of these transfer negotiations will be crucial for their preparations and ambitions for the upcoming season.
