Alejandro Garnacho recently expressed his emotions after having a goal disallowed during Manchester United’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion. The game, which took place on Saturday, August 24, at the Amex Stadium, ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Red Devils.

 

Brighton took the lead in the 32nd minute with a goal from Danny Welbeck, assisted by Kaoru Mitoma. Manchester United equalized in the 60th minute when Amad Diallo scored with an assist from Noussair Mazraoui. Garnacho came on as a substitute for Marcus Rashford in the 65th minute and found the back of the net in the 72nd minute. However, the goal was ruled out by VAR due to Joshua Zirkzee being offside in the buildup. Brighton secured their victory with a goal from João Pedro in the 95th minute.

 

After the match, Garnacho took to Instagram, sharing a story with a photo from the game and the caption, “God has something planned for me, trust the process.” He also thanked Manchester United fans for their unwavering support, stating, “Thank you United fans for always supporting us.”

 

Following the loss to Brighton, Manchester United now sits in 11th place in the Premier League standings, having earned three points from two games.

 

Before the match against Brighton, Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, spoke about Garnacho’s potential. He acknowledged that while the young Argentine has the qualities to become a top-tier player, he still has a lot of work ahead of him. Ten Hag emphasized that Garnacho’s dedication and hard work are key to his development into an elite player.

 

Garnacho, who started his senior career at Manchester United in 2022, made 50 appearances last season, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists. This season, he has already contributed one assist in two league appearances. Manchester United’s next Premier League match is against Liverpool at Old Trafford on September 1.
