The area of Man Utd where fitness issues are most detrimental is defence, as both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, two of the team’s senior left-backs, are out. Accordingly, Diogo Dalot is most likely to start on the left side of defense, with Noussair Mazraoui, a recent addition, occupying the right back position.
The Red Devils are also without another recent addition. After suffering a serious injury during the preseason, Leny Yoro is unlikely to play until November at the latest. Victor Lindelof, another center back, is also out due to a toe injury.
