Manchester United Set to Beat Barcelona & Real Madrid for Adrien Rabiot! 🚨 Manchester United have locked in a top target! 💥 Despite interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid, the Red Devils are leading the race to sign free agent Adrien Rabiot. 🔴✨ With their powerful midfield, United is ready to dominate once again!

Manchester United are reportedly considering signing free-agent Adrien Rabiot to strengthen their midfield, as reported by Le Figaro. Even after recently acquiring Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain on the deadline day, the club remains keen on adding more depth to their midfield lineup.

Ugarte, a promising Uruguayan midfielder, is set to make his debut for United after the international break and is expected to take on a primary role in the defensive midfield position. Despite this, the club’s interest in Rabiot remains high, as they aim to bring additional experience and quality into their midfield.

Rabiot, who previously played for Juventus, has also caught the attention of other top European clubs, such as Newcastle United and Barcelona. However, Barcelona’s ongoing financial difficulties prevent them from meeting Rabiot’s wage demands, potentially giving United an edge in negotiations, albeit with some challenges.

One of the key issues in securing Rabiot’s signature is his mother, who acts as his agent. She is reportedly demanding a salary package of over £162,000 per week, which surpasses the £147,000 weekly wage Rabiot received at Juventus.

While Rabiot’s status as a free agent might make him an attractive target, United are hesitant to make a concrete offer. Their reluctance is influenced by Rabiot’s age and high wage expectations. At 29, Rabiot will turn 30 next April, leading to concerns that his peak years may be short-lived.

Furthermore, along with his substantial salary demands, Rabiot would likely request a significant signing-on fee, a common expectation among high-profile free agents. Additionally, there are reports suggesting that his playing style does not align with the vision of United’s manager, which could be another obstacle to his potential arrival at Old Trafford.

In terms of performance, Rabiot’s contributions last season were solid, but not particularly outstanding. In Serie A, he averaged 1.9 tackles and 5.7 duels won per game. However, his passing statistics were less impressive, with an average of only 31 completed passes per match at an 83% success rate, and just one long ball per game.

Manchester United, now under new management and INEOS ownership, have emphasized acquiring players with potential resale value. Their oldest signing this summer was 26-year-old Noussair Mazraoui, reflecting the club’s commitment to younger, more sustainable investments. This approach makes it unlikely that United will pursue Rabiot, who does not align with their current strategy.

While Rabiot may continue to be linked to the club in speculation, it appears that United’s management is focusing on other alternatives and may be looking in a different direction to bolster their midfield options.
