I give you this week to pack your things and leave” – Manchester United’s new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has officially told the £60m Man Utd star to leave or face contract termination, similar to what happened with Ronaldo and Sancho, after United’s recent draw. He’s out! 😱

Manchester United is reportedly acknowledging their slow start to the season but remains reluctant to part ways with Erik ten Hag despite the growing pressure. The Dutch manager, brought in with high expectations to rebuild the team, faces increased scrutiny as the Red Devils continue to underperform. However, sources suggest that the club is not ready to make drastic changes, even though fans and analysts are becoming impatient.

The recent goalless draw with Aston Villa has intensified doubts about Ten Hag’s future, with United winning just two of their first seven league games, leaving them in a disappointing 14th place. As the October international break approaches, speculation about the manager’s position is rife. Still, despite these setbacks, Ten Hag seems to retain the club’s support for now, as internal discussions continue.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a prominent figure in United’s ownership, attended the Villa Park match—his second of the season—sitting alongside key individuals such as Sir Alex Ferguson and others. Ratcliffe’s presence has fueled speculation that his opinions will play a significant role in the club’s future decisions regarding Ten Hag.

Critical meetings are set for Monday in Manchester and Tuesday in London, where Joel Glazer will join other club executives. These discussions could be pivotal for Ten Hag’s future, given the team’s disappointing performances so far this season.

Statistically, United’s situation looks grim. With only two wins from seven league matches and a mere five goals scored, the team’s overall form is concerning. In total, they have managed just three wins in 11 games across all competitions, including a Carabao Cup win against Barnsley and victories over Fulham and Southampton in the league. Their European performance has also been lackluster, with just one win in their last ten matches, including a recent setback against Porto in the Europa League.

Despite mounting criticism, Ten Hag remains defiant, insisting that the mood at Old Trafford is more positive than is being reported. Nonetheless, this may not shield him from the team’s struggles, making the upcoming meetings crucial for his future. Reports suggest that Manchester United is hesitant to dismiss Ten Hag, particularly after investing £200 million in new signings this summer, signaling their commitment to supporting him.

Furthermore, the club’s ownership group, INEOS, has activated a one-year extension in Ten Hag’s contract, keeping him at the club until 2026, indicating their long-term plan for his

leadership.
