VERY SAD Andy Robertson news has been announced this today after this decision from Liverpool His future has been decided
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has voiced concerns over Andy Robertson’s recent dip in form, particularly following mistakes that contributed to Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Fulham on Saturday.
The match took a tough turn for Robertson early on when he endured a heavy challenge from Fulham’s Issa Diop, which many believed warranted a red card. However, both the referee and VAR chose not to act. Shortly afterward, Robertson’s defensive error allowed Andreas Pereira to find the net, giving Fulham a surprising lead at Anfield.
The situation worsened minutes later when Robertson’s heavy touch handed possession to Harry Wilson. In an attempt to recover, Robertson fouled Wilson just outside the penalty area, earning a straight red card for denying a clear scoring opportunity. Liverpool were forced to play the rest of the match with 10 men.
Although Cody Gakpo leveled the score in the second half, Rodrigo Muniz restored Fulham’s lead in the 76th minute. It wasn’t until Diogo Jota’s late equalizer that Liverpool managed to avoid a second home defeat this season.
In the aftermath, Carragher called for Liverpool to address their lack of depth at left-back during the January transfer window. He suggested Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as a possible solution, praising the young defender’s aggressive playing style and smooth adaptation to the Premier League. Carragher highlighted that Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes, was instrumental in bringing Kerkez to Bournemouth.
Speaking to Sky Sports (via the Daily Mail), Carragher said:
“Against Fulham, he [Robertson] wasn’t running back at full pace after picking up a knock earlier. His slow reaction led to the red card. Liverpool have no real back-up at left-back, and that’s something they must fix in January.”
Carragher also expressed confidence in Kerkez, describing him as “a proper full-back” with great potential to succeed in the Premier League.
Robertson’s struggles this season go beyond the Fulham game. He has recently given away penalties in matches against Southampton and Real Madrid, though Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher managed to bail him out on both occasions.
Despite his crucial contributions to Liverpool’s success in recent years, Robertson’s current form has prompted discussions about finding a long-term replacement. Alongside Kerkez, Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies has also been mentioned as a potential candidate for the role.
