Fabrizio Romano Exposed why Chelsea’s Vini Jr. deal is closer than ever against all of their Premier League competitors

Chelsea has become synonymous with big-money moves for exciting young prospects since Todd Boehly’s takeover.

The club’s willingness to break the bank was evident when they signed Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo for over £100 million apiece in successive transfer windows.

Now, another blockbuster opportunity has presented itself, with Chelsea eyeing a Real Madrid superstar who’s approaching the final year of his contract.

Vinicius Jr’s frustrations boiled over during the weekend’s El Clásico against Barcelona. After being substituted, the Brazilian stormed off the pitch and engaged in a heated confrontation with Madrid boss Xabi Alonso on the touchline.

Chelsea is closely tracking the winger’s deteriorating situation at Real Madrid, with growing speculation about his unhappiness in the Spanish capital.

If those rumors hold true, Enzo Maresca’s side is positioned to pounce on the Brazilian sensation and offer him an escape from the Santiago Bernabeu when the summer window opens.

Chelsea circle as Vinicius Jr faces contract ultimatum

According to the Chelsea Chronicle, Vinicius has been issued an ultimatum by Real Madrid: commit to a new contract or be sold this summer.

Transfer insider Graeme Bailey shed light on the situation: “Vini Jr’s discontent at Madrid isn’t breaking news. With only 18 months left on his deal, the club has drawn a line in the sand—sign an extension by next summer or you’ll be moved on.

“The pool of clubs capable of affording him is extremely limited. He’s apparently ruled out Saudi Arabia. In the Premier League, that narrows it down to Chelsea, City and Liverpool.

“These mega-deals aren’t really Chelsea’s style at the moment, but I don’t think Todd Boehly would pass up the chance to land a generational talent of this caliber. The commercial possibilities alone with Vini Jr would be staggering.

“Come next summer, with only a year remaining on his contract, we’re not looking at a £200 million valuation anymore. I wouldn’t write Chelsea off entirely. My gut says he’ll eventually sign a new deal, but there’s clearly friction.

“This is one to watch closely. Chelsea has tracked Vini Jr before, and he remains firmly on their radar.”

If the Brazilian does opt to leave Real Madrid, Chelsea must pull out all the stops to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
