Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior will decide at the last minute whether Cole Palmer, Reece James and Malo Gusto will feature in the match against Arsenal.

The three players were left out of Saturday’s dominant 5-1 FA Cup third-round victory over Charlton as a “precautionary measure”, with Rosenior revealing they were carrying minor injuries from the previous week’s Fulham fixture.

Speaking on Monday, Rosenior confirmed his final selection decision would be made on Tuesday regarding whether Palmer, James and Gusto will be available for the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg clash with the Gunners at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

“We emerged from the Charlton match without any injury concerns, which was very positive,” Rosenior stated.

“I’ll decide on Cole, Reece and Malo tomorrow [Tuesday]. They’re being carefully monitored.

“The FA Cup fixture provided an ideal opportunity for them to recuperate. There’s no sense in taking unnecessary chances when you believe you can secure victory [without them].”
