It’s His choice,You can force the Horse to the river but you can’t compel Him to drink it’: Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk CONFIRMED his €65m Shakhtar Donetsk Teammate have accept to join Arsenal over Chelsea despite trying so hard to convince him
Mikel Arteta, another €65 million Shakhtar Donetsk star coveted by Arsenal in January, wants new competition for out-of-form Martinelli.
According to reports, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all interested in signing Shakhtar Donetsk offensive midfielder Georgiy Sudakov.
All three Premier League heavyweights are looking for attacking additions during the January transfer window, and in a twist reminiscent of the mad dash to sign Mykhailo Mudryk from the Ukrainian club this time last year, the trio are all reported to be interested in Sudakov.
According to Tutto Juve, Juventus and Barcelona are also interested in the 21-year-old midfielder, who has been regarded as a “top-class talent.”
Chelsea are thought to be looking to replicate the Mudryk transaction, while Arsenal have “channels open” with Shakhtar, but it is unknown how warm the clubs’ relations are after last January’s fiasco.
Barcelona and Juventus are both believed to be looking to strengthen their midfield options, however the Catalan club’s financial difficulties make them underdogs in this competition, despite Gavi’s season-ending injury.
Although Mudryk received a lot of attention a year ago, with former Shakhtar boss Roberto De Zerbi identifying him as a potential Ballon d’Or winner one day, Sudakov is a better player.
According to data analytics firm SciSports, the current Shakhtar player is significantly stronger than Mudryk was at the same time of his career.
It is important to note, however, that the two perform distinct roles. Mudryk is generally a winger, and while Sudakov has previously played on the left, he typically plays in the centre of midfield.
Shakhtar control the youngster’s future with a contract that runs until 2028, which might force his transfer fee higher.
Sudakov is unlikely to command the kind of fee that Mudryk did when he moved to Stamford Bridge for €70 million last January, but with an estimated transfer value of €11.2 million provided by Football Transfers’ unique Player Valuation Model, he could provide significantly better value for money.
