Liverpool goalkeeper AdriƔn San Miguel has expressed his desire to head back to La Liga as the summer transfer window approaches. The 37-year-old, in a conversation with Movistar Plus, discussed his future at Liverpool, according to a report by Mucho Deporte.
AdriƔn has been sidelined at Liverpool this season, with only two appearances since the start of the 2021/22 season. His contract with Liverpool is set to end in June, hinting at a potential move away from the club.
After leaving Real Betis for West Ham United in 2013 and later joining Liverpool, AdriƔn now looks forward to returning to La Liga.
He stated, “After spending 11 seasons in the Premier League, I feel the urge to return to La Liga. It would signal the end of a chapter. Despite being 37, I still feel competitive and ready.”
AdriĆ”n emphasized the importance of maintaining fitness and avoiding injuries, noting that he believes he still has plenty to offer. He added, “I am keen on returning to La Liga, provided the project is promising and appealing.”
While AdriĆ”n hasn’t had discussions about his future with Liverpool, his focus remains on La Liga. He mentioned, “I haven’t spoken with Liverpool yet. There might be a conversation pending, but I’m keeping an eye on La Liga developments.”
With Claudio Bravo expected to leave Real Betis when his contract expires, AdriƔn could emerge as a potential option for the club in the upcoming transfer window.
