Chelsea Manager Enzo Maresca broke down in tears as another Key Chelsea player Who was supposed to be the main man For Chelsea Squad goes off injured during World cup qualifiers gam

Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has suffered an ankle injury while on international duty with Senegal.

The 22-year-old was substituted in the last minutes of Senegal’s 1-1 draw with DR Congo in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday.

Senegal’s next World Cup qualifier against Mauritania is scheduled for Sunday evening, however the medical staff has announced that Jackson has been forced to withdraw from the squad.

Jackson injured his right ankle, and after an MRI scan, Senegal’s medical staff revealed that the attacker had a’serious sprain’.

The Chelsea striker will now rest before beginning pre-season training in July.

Enzo Maresca’s team will begin their tour of the United States with a game against Wrexham in California on July 24. They’ll also face Celtic, Club America, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.

Jackson concluded his debut season at Chelsea with 17 goals in all competitions, although his inconsistency drew criticism.

Chelsea’s pre-season schedule for 2024 includes a match against Wrexham on July 24 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Chelsea against Celtic – July 27 at Notre Dame Stadium in Notre Dame, Indiana.

Chelsea against Club America, July 31 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Chelsea against Manchester City, August 3, at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Chelsea against Real Madrid: August 6 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Jackson, on the other hand, has received accolades for his dynamic displays in the Premier League since joining from Villarreal for £31.8 million last summer.

‘I genuinely like Nicolas Jackson; it could be a controversial stance on here, but I like him.’ Gary Neville mentioned this on Sky Sports’ The Gary Neville Podcast in April.

‘I believe he has a lot to offer; he is a young player. I don’t believe he cost a lot of money, but this is his first full season in the Premier League, he’s scored a lot of goals, and he’s still going. There’s a lot to say about it.

‘He may not be striker number one, but if he was striker number two or three in a side of 18 to 20, you’d say, ‘I’ll take that’. So, for me, Chelsea’s performance versus Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final was incredible. Good, very good.

‘And if they had a forward who could finish more regularly than Nicolas Jackson, they would have clearly won the game, and I believe that is what Chelsea’s owners should be searching for.’
