Manchester United make ‘final’ bid for Jarrad Branthwaite! 🏆 With their eyes also set on a Liverpool target, the Red Devils are pulling out all the stops to strengthen their defense. Stay tuned for more updates!

Manchester United is considering French defender Leny Yoro as a backup option if they can’t finalize a deal with Everton for Jarrad Branthwaite.

United’s latest offer for Branthwaite stands at £43 million, but Everton is demanding around £70 million for the England international.

Expecting no agreement with Everton, United has shifted focus to Yoro, an 18-year-old Lille starlet highly regarded in French football, and also pursued by Liverpool and Real Madrid.

United has been closely monitoring Yoro, who is valued at about £40 million, and has made preliminary inquiries with Lille about a transfer. Yoro is reportedly eager to join United.

The £43 million bid for Branthwaite includes £35 million upfront and £8 million in performance-based add-ons. Everton references United’s £80 million purchase of Harry Maguire in 2019 to justify their valuation, but United argues that the financial landscape has changed post-COVID and due to Premier League profit and sustainability rules.

Additionally, United is contemplating activating Bologna striker Zirkzee’s £45 million release clause. The versatile 23-year-old forward, recently called up to the Dutch Euro 2024 squad, could potentially replace Marcus Rashford at United. Rashford, who wasn’t selected for the Euro 2024 squad and scored only eight goals last season, might be sold if a suitable offer is made.
