Nobody was expecting this, the fans are celebrating to this deal. This is guy will do wonders at United🙀🙀🙀

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has opted to leave the Premier League to join Bayern Munich for £50 million, despite significant interest from Manchester United and Chelsea. The 22-year-old attracted attention from top clubs including Newcastle United and Liverpool but ultimately chose Bayern, which agreed to a €60 million (£50.7 million) deal with Palace, inclusive of add-ons.

Chelsea and Newcastle both made attempts to secure Olise, but he is set to sign a five-year deal with Bayern, turning down a lucrative offer from Chelsea. In May, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reported that Manchester United had also held discussions with Olise’s representatives, demonstrating strong interest in the winger who had an impressive season with 10 goals in 19 Premier League appearances.

Olise nearly joined Chelsea last summer when they activated his £35 million release clause, but he decided to remain at Selhurst Park and subsequently signed a new contract with Palace, extending his stay until 2027 and increasing his release clause to around £60 million. According to The Telegraph, via the Shields Gazette, Olise favored Bayern because of their participation in the Champions League, while Manchester United, Newcastle, and Chelsea did not secure spots in Europe’s premier club competition. United will play in the Europa League following their FA Cup final victory over Manchester City, which placed Chelsea in the Europa Conference League and left Newcastle without European football.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Aston Villa will represent England in the Champions League next season. Chelsea had reportedly reached verbal agreements on personal terms with Olise and were negotiating with Palace over the release clause, but the certainty of those agreements remains unclear.

Prior to last season, Olise had appeared in 63 Premier League games, scoring four goals. His performance significantly improved, earning high praise from Palace manager Oliver Glasner for his four goals and three assists in the final six games of the season, including a double against Manchester United. Glasner commended Olise’s individual skills and his improved form after finding the right position for him in the team.

Born in London, Olise began his career in Chelsea’s academy before moving to Manchester City’s youth setup. He joined Reading in 2017 and debuted against Leeds United in March 2019. At Reading, he scored seven goals and provided 14 assists in 73 games, which led to his transfer to Palace in July 2021 for around £8 million. His initial contract with Palace was a five-year deal, set to last until 2026.

Olise’s departure might not be the only significant transfer involving Crystal Palace players this summer. Winger Eberechi Eze is also reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United and is currently representing England at Euro 2024.
