Pep Guardiola: I’m just concerned about one Chelsea player, who I believe will be an issue for Holland if Chelsea continues to compete for league titles.
‘Erling Haaland will have a problem in the future,’ says Pep Guardiola of Manchester City’s striker.
Pep Guardiola has warned that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will feel pressure to score at least three goals in every game.
Against Burnley, the striker scored three goals.
Has already scored eight goals in two games.
Guardiola cautions that the stakes will be high.
WHAT OCCURED? Haaland has scored eight goals in his past two games, including five in the Champions League against RB Leipzig in midweek and three in the FA Cup quarter-final win over Burnley. The striker’s fantastic form, though, could come back to haunt him, as Guardiola claims he will be the victim of high expectations.
WHAT THEY stated: “This guy will have a problem in the future, people will expect him to score three or four goals in each game, and this isn’t going to happen,” City’s coach stated during a press conference. “I know him, he doesn’t care, he’s so optimistic in his life, never complains, always looks out for himself.” He scored nine goals, he’s a huge threat, a power, and his pleasure of life is constantly joyful and optimistic, which helps.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE: In just 37 games for the reigning Premier League champions, the Norwegian international has 42 goals in all competitions.
