Manchester United Receive Major Boost in Victor Osimhen Pursuit as Juventus Exit Race

Manchester United’s chances of landing Victor Osimhen have improved significantly after reports emerged that Juventus have withdrawn from the race for the Nigerian striker.

Earlier this week, Italian outlets claimed that United had reached an agreement with Napoli to activate Osimhen’s release clause this summer. According to Tuttosport, United are prepared to offer £64 million plus forward Rasmus Højlund in a bid to bring Osimhen to Old Trafford.

Juventus, once keen on signing Osimhen, have reportedly shifted their focus elsewhere, now targeting Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui, valued at €50 million (£42 million). Ademola Lookman has also been listed as an alternative for the Turin giants.

Although United’s path appears clearer with Juventus stepping aside, the deal for Osimhen is not finalized. Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is known for being a tough negotiator and could still demand different terms or a higher cash offer. Additionally, Osimhen’s personal terms, including salary and bonuses, still need to be agreed upon.

Meanwhile, United are exploring other attacking options. Ipswich’s relegation has made promising youngster Liam Delap available for around £30 million, and Wolves forward Matheus Cunha continues to be linked with a move to Manchester — though triggering his £62.5 million release clause would be necessary to complete

any deal.
