Ruben Amorim admitted to making his first mistake at Manchester United, as a former Old Trafford favorite discusses what the new manager will be lacking following his major decision regarding the future of a staff member.

Earlier this month, Manchester United appointed Ruben Amorim as head coach, succeeding interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who had stepped in after Erik ten Hag’s departure. Although van Nistelrooy had an unbeaten run since joining the club in the summer, Amorim chose not to keep him on the coaching team, deciding instead to assemble his own staff.
Former United forward Louis Saha considers this choice a potential misstep for Amorim. In a conversation with BoyleSports, Saha commented, “Letting Ruud van Nistelrooy depart might be Ruben Amorim’s first error. By doing so, Amorim risks losing out on valuable insights into the club’s recent developments and the past few games—knowledge that could prove essential in guiding the team forward and fostering player confidence.”
Saha continued, expressing disappointment at van Nistelrooy’s departure. “While it’s common for new managers to bring in their own personnel, keeping Van Nistelrooy could have been advantageous in getting the best performance from the players.”
