Following his forced exit against Everton, John Stones has suffered yet another concerning injury setback.
After suffering a hip injury that delayed the start of his season until October, the central defender has been eager to get going this season.
Despite being named in the starting lineup for the match against his old team, Stones was substituted off due to an ungainly fall resulting from a collision with striker Beto.
The defender, who appeared uncomfortable and was receiving treatment, was compelled to leave and was replaced by Josko Gvardiol.
Although the severity of the injury is yet unknown, Stones will be hoping that it won’t have a significant negative effect on his season.
The 29-year-old has made 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Not only did Stones’ injury cause concern for Pep Guardiola, but Everton also unexpectedly took a 1-0 lead in the first half thanks to a goal from Jack Harrison.
