Chelsea FC Star Mykhailo Mudryk has just confirmed this Evening that his £60 million Ukrainian teammate will be joining Chelsea this Transfer
Artem Dovbyk, a striker for Ukraine, is reportedly being pursued by Chelsea due to his strong performance for Girona in La Liga.
Dovbyk is high on the Blues’ wishlist as they look to add more attacking alternatives during the January transfer window, according to The Sun.
Girona has surprised their La Liga rivals this season thanks to Dovbyk’s outstanding performances; they are currently ranked second, ahead of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
The 26-year-old, who is rumoured to be worth £39 million, has played in 17 games in the Spanish first division this season, tallying 11 goals and five assists.
Dovbyk, who has a contract that runs through 2028, relocated from Dnipro-1 to Girona this summer.
He has scored seven goals in 23 appearances for the Ukrainian national team.
Dovbyk’s 6′ 2″ physical profile may help address Mauricio Pochettino’s worry about the lack of height in his current squad, as the Argentine coach has dispatched scouts to observe the striker in recent weeks.
The Chelsea player Mykhailo Mudryk and Dovbyk share an agent, and it’s believed that the two are daily communicators and close friends.
Pochettino reportedly wants Dovbyk to challenge Nicolas Jackson for the No. 9 position.
In the meantime, Chelsea star Armando Broja—who is eager for more consistent playing time—would probably be leaving due to the potential arrival of Dovbyk.
