The representative in charge of arranging Hakim Ziyech’s move from Chelsea to Galatasaray has denied reports that Ziyech has asked for the loan agreement to terminate this month.
Galatasaray affirmed that they had not paid any money for the arrangement, and they had also secured the right to recruit Ziyech the following summer on a free transfer. It was towards the end of the previous summer when Ziyech managed to seal the loan deal.
However, according to a report from the Turkish publication DHA, Galatasaray may try to terminate the loan this month due to concerns about Ziyech’s output. These rumours were fueled further when quotes purportedly from agent George Gardi appeared on social media, indicating that Galatasaray would shorten the deal.

Thirty-year-old Ziyech made a total of fourteen appearances for Galatasaray this season before leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco. In all competitions since joining the team, he has contributed two assists and four goals.
On the other hand, it’s unclear what Ziyech has planned for the future. The winger is still bound by Chelsea until 2025, but if Galatasaray doesn’t sign him for free at the end of the current campaign, it’s highly unlikely that Mauricio Pochettino’s new-look squad would feature him.
In May 2023, Ziyech made his last Chelsea appearance as a late substitute in a 4-1 loss to Manchester United. He also provided an assist in that game. The manager overseeing the match, Frank Lampard, was a major factor in Ziyech’s choice to move to Stamford Bridge for a fee of thirty-three million pounds three years prior.
In 107 appearances throughout his three years at Chelsea, Ziyech contributed 13 assists and 14 goals. He also had a significant role in the team’s 2021 Champions League triumph, the club’s second-ever event.
