“He was upset with me that he wasn’t in the Starting XI, but I have spoken with him But his decision has been made he wants to leave manchester City-Pep Guardiola Said Manchester City Star is Angry for lack of playing time
Presenter acknowledges that the situation facing the 28-year-old City star worries him.
Jack Grealish of Manchester City “may be in danger” of missing out on England’s Euro 2024 squad later this year, according to radio host Sam Matterface.
This season, Grealish has been somewhat of a stop-start for City.
Despite playing a major role in the Treble-winning 2022–23 campaign, Grealish has found it difficult to stay consistent this season.
He has played for a total of 1525 minutes in 24 outings across all competitions thus far.
The £100 million man isn’t at his best right now since he’s had some physical issues, been sick, and has huge potential in Jeremy Doku and Oscar Bobb.
Broadcaster Sam Matterface believes that if things don’t change, Grealish’s spot in the England team may be in peril.
Matterface voiced his worries about Grealish when discussing Phil Foden on talkSPORT’s Premier League All Access programme.
The 28-year-old did not come off the bench in City’s FA Cup victory against Tottenham Hotspur and has only played 13 minutes in the team’s last three Premier League games.
But in City’s opening match of 2024 against Huddersfield Town, he did play for 57 minutes.
“I’m a bit worried about Jack Grealish,” Matterface stated. since he has been absent from the scene for a little time. If he can’t get back into the squad, he could end up being one of the odd man out when it comes to the Euros.
“But you know how Pep works; he puts you on the bench for a while, then when you come back, the headlines follow you around again.”
Losing out on Grealish would be shocking.
If Grealish were to be left off of England’s Euro 2024 squad this summer, that would be a major surprise.
Even if he isn’t playing a much for City right now, Gareth Southgate should still be using him.
Grealish puts a lot of effort into his defensive play and is passionate about ball control and retention. Because set pieces can lead to goals, his ability to draw fouls is a very underappreciated aspect of his game. These factors do make him fairly distinctive. In addition, Paul Merson recently noted that he is an excellent team player.
With Doku and Bobb battling for playing time, he might not be as involved for City as he was in the last campaign going forward, but it would still be shocking if he missed the flight.
