Manchester United Manager Erik ten Hag told Man Utd outcast who never played a game is better than Andre Onana

Erik ten Hag has been informed that Jack Butland, a previous loanee, ought to start in goal for Manchester United rather than Andre Onana.

The Cameroonian custodian cost £47 million to transfer from Inter Milan to Old Trafford in the summer. and has had a difficult first season despite a string of well-publicized mistakes.

Former Rangers player John Brown feels that the Red Devils should have kept Butland rather than spending big money on Onana. Butland never played for Man United after joining on loan from Crystal Palace in January of last year.

Brown remarked, “I was always a fan of Butland.” He never received more minutes down south, which shocked me. There are many goalkeepers in the Premier League that, in my opinion, Jack Butland is superior to.

“He was Manchester United’s first-choice goalie, in my opinion, so if I were looking for a reliable keeper, Jack Butland would be my pick. Rangers’ acquisition of him is therefore excellent for the team. Additionally, he enters a club that has 50,000 fans for each home game.

“He’s playing in Europe, going for trophies, he’s got a trophy in the bag, he probably has another 10 years at the top because of the years he’s missed.”

Butland left Crystal Palace at the end of his contract and signed with Scottish powerhouse Rangers in the summer. Since then, the 30-year-old has made 40 appearances for the team while maintaining 20 clean sheets.

That is very different from when he was at Old Trafford. Butland never played as a senior for Manchester United, despite making 20 appearances off the bench, including during the FA Cup final.

Butland remarked of his time as a Red Devil: “I missed playing, even though I loved Palace and United was a great team. Alright, that’s crucial to me. Would you be able to attend United?

Yes, but how would the remainder of my career unfold? I found that to be significant. I wanted the years after 30 to be remembered as prosperous times rather than as a time that passed by.”

Throughout his career, Butland has earned nine appearances for the England national team; his final cap came in a 1-0 friendly victory against Switzerland in 2018. The Red Devils made a summertime play for two goalkeepers after he left Manchester United.

They also signed Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce in addition to Onana. He recently made his eagerly awaited club debut against Newport County in a 4-2 FA Cup fourth round triumph.
