Rafael Leao has denied rumours that he would sign a summer transfer to Chelsea, stating that he sees his future with AC Milan and is dedicated to staying with the team to the end of his contract.
For the Rossoneri in Serie A this season, the 24-year-old winger—who is considered as one of the most dynamic attacking players in the world of football—has notched up four goals and seven assists.
Leao, who is in his fifth year at the San Siro, moved from Lille in 2019 and is now well acclimated to life in Milan. Some of Europe’s best teams, such as Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Chelsea, have taken notice of his performances in Italy.
Leao is obligated to Milan through 2028, but according to sources from last month, the Portugal international has an incredible €175 million (£150 million) release clause that would need to be fully paid by prospective suitors in order to compel a move.
However, it seems like Leao is not even considering leaving Milan at this time, even if the seven-time European winners are currently 13 points behind fierce rivals Inter Milan in the Italian league.
