Manchester City Pep Guardiola responds to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s claim that trophies ‘mean more’ to Liverpool than Man City
Trent Alexander-Arnold said that trophy support means more to Liverpool supporters than to Manchester City supporters. Pep Guardiola has responded to this.
This Sunday’s encounter between Liverpool and City at Anfield is expected to decide the Premier League title.
At the top of the standings, Jurgen Klopp’s team is presently one point ahead of City, with Arsenal one point behind.

By asserting that trophies have become more significant to Liverpool supporters than Man City in recent years, Alexander-Arnold has heightened tensions prior to the game.
FourFourTwo heard him say, “It’s tough.” It’s easiest to say that City and its organisation are up against a system that is designed to win.
“When we look back on this era, even though they’ve probably been more successful and won more titles than us, our trophies will mean more to our fan base and ourselves because of the financial circumstances at both teams.

“How both clubs have built their teams and the manner in which we’ve done it, probably means more to our fans.”
Several City players, including Ruben Dias and Erling Haaland, have taken offence at those remarks.
“It’s okay if he wants to say that,” Haaland replied. “I won the treble the year I was here, and it was a really pleasant sensation. I doubt he is aware of this emotion. I experienced that last season, and it was really pleasant.”
Dias said, “We’ve won a lot in this club, especially last year with the Treble,” in an interview with BBC Radio Manchester. I believe there’s a good chance that we all know how much it meant to each other as well as our followers.

“In the end, you can only feel a certain way if you succeed in winning things. A Treble is an emotion that you can only experience firsthand by doing it.”

Now that Pep Guardiola has entered the discussion, he responded briefly when asked about Alexander-Arnold, who is presently out due to a knee injury.
Guardiola remarked, “I hope he heals quickly and returns as soon as possible,” declining to elaborate further.
When questioned about Alexander-Arnold’s remarks at his pre-game news conference, Liverpool manager Klopp also provided a direct response.
Klopp stated, “There’s nothing wrong with what Trent said.”
