The firing of Pochettino “could be announced next week,” according to Chelsea. the possibility of Mourinho making a stunning comeback

According to a rumour, Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be fired next week, which means Jose Mourinho might make a spectacular comeback to Chelsea.

With 12 games remaining, Pochettino’s team is presently 11th in the Premier League table, one spot higher than they were at the end of the previous season. The Blues have been struggling for the majority of the season.

Chelsea needed to wait until the 83rd minute to tie the score at Brentford on the previous Saturday. Supporters on the away end were yelling for Pochettino to be fired and Mourinho to return.

Pochettino responded to the chanting by telling reporters on Saturday, “I’ve been told, to be honest, I didn’t hear, it’s difficult for me to understand.”

“But it’s understandable; they voiced their annoyance because we were down 2-1 in the match. As the coach, I share some of the blame.

“I’ve been asked before if I sense the fans’ adoration. No. We must accept this relationship, therefore don’t worry. You win games, and you win your relationship.

“I’ll keep working to try to alter this impression. We have to deal with some realities. The team is fighting and we are trying incredibly hard to win games.

“I have to respect the fans’ opinions if it doesn’t work and they are unhappy. The partnership seems healthy to me. Fans are emotional if they did what they did.

“I am using every ounce of might to try to put together a team that plays in the most effective manner to win games and score goals. My 52nd birthday is today, and although I understand the situation, I’m going to fight.

Since taking over Chelsea in May 2022, a group led by Todd Boehly has spent over £1 billion, although the Blues have significantly underperformed on the pitch in spite of the investment.

While some people feel sorry for Pochettino, the Spanish newspaper Nacional maintains that Boehly is prepared to fire Pochettino and that the announcement “may be announced next week.”

Given that Chelsea faces the possibility of having a season as terrible as the previous one, the Blues board appears to be considering “bringing in Mourinho” following the Portuguese coach’s resignation from Roma earlier in the season.
