Liverpool Manager Jürgen Klopp explains explains why Mohamed Salah couldn’t start for Liverpool against Man City. That’s good news for Manchester city

Konate was sidelined from today’s match after his early exit in Thursday’s 5-1 win against Sparta Prague in the Europa League semifinals. Jarell Quansah stepped in, alongside captain Virgil van Dijk in the starting lineup. Conor Bradley takes the right-back position, with Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas on the bench, while Joe Gomez covers the left side of defense.

Wataru Endo maintains his role as the holding midfielder, supported by Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister in the “No.8” roles. Jurgen Klopp faces a challenge with up to ten first-team players unavailable for the crucial match against Manchester City, including Konate, Ben Doak, Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Ryan Gravenberch, Alisson Becker, Joel Matip, and Stefan Bajcetic.

In light of Salah’s recent injury worries, Klopp stated that starting him wasn’t considered initially. Klopp stressed the significance of reflecting on past experiences and communicating with Salah. He highlighted that starting Salah wasn’t a primary decision for this game but mentioned the option to introduce him later, which he found “really cool.”

Liverpool’s lineup includes Elliott, Nunez, Diaz; Endo, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister; Bradley, Quansah, Van Dijk, Gomez; Kelleher.
